Windows XP 
I want to upgrdae from XP to Windows 7.The error showing is :
Windows could not retrieve information about disks on this computer.
VDS is not shown in services.msc

Reply: This issue has nothing to do with the vds.exe file. Windows XP cannot directly upgrade to Windows 7. Your only solution is to install Windows 7 in a completely new way, but this will delete your Windows XP. Therefore, you must back up important data before the installation.
